The ham cake is a well-known moon cake in Yunnan. The crust is crisp and the filling is fragrant. It is an indispensable favorite food during (he Mid-Autumn Festival. It is also the best present for friends and relatives.

In the middle of the 17th century, Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty in the course of his journey to Yunnan was offered a dish of fried rice noodle by the local people. After taking the food, he highly praised it, "It is a great saviour for me" , hence the name of the dish "Da Jiu Jia" . Pieces of rice noodle are fried with ham, eggs and vegetables. The food is very delicious.
